This is day tour to Hrauneyjar which lies at the centre of the forbidding Icelandic highlands. Our route leads first through the Thjórsádalur Valley stopping at Hjálparfoss, one of Iceland’s loveliest waterfalls, continuing into the extraordinary mountains to the water-filled Ljótipollur crater and the Landmannalaugar oasis. Here is the opportunity to bathe in the natural hot water or join a short guided hike before heading for active Mt. Hekla, the queen of Icelandic volcanoes. Depending on the day’s weather and geological conditions we will drive to a height of 950m (3.100f) up the side of the volcano to capture the astounding views. Our Super Jeeps. For bathing in the natural springs, please don´t forget to bring swimming suit and towel.
