This tour takes you among the rougher terrain of the Icelandic highlands. Nature in the wild with all it’s unspoiled beauty, is the best description in a very few words. On the way, we cross a huge black sand desert. And like most any desert there is an oasis where a few cabins snuggle together next to a river with nice warm water from a nearby lava field. Here, we can go swimming if you wish, yes, outdoors, among all this nature. This oasis has it all. After that, we pass one of Iceland’s and Europe’s most unpredictable and notorious volcanoes, Hekla. It has erupted 4 times in 10 year cycles, in just over 40 years. Is today the day?
