From the city of Reykjavik, we travel east to visit three very special places of history, power and beauty, not very far away.
The National park of Thingvellir is a very special place to Icelanders and the most historical place in Iceland. It is here in the year 930 AD where the world’s first parliament held it’s very first meeting...outdoors.
From here we travel to the golden falls, Gullfoss. Considered one of Iceland’s most beautiful, (and there are many hundreds of them) the golden falls are a camera’s delight from all angles.
Then, just 10 kilometers back down the road are high temperature fields where the geyser Strokkur will erupt for us every few minutes. You will never get closer to any wonder like this, anywhere else in the world.
On the way back we take a different route, and visit the implotion crater Kerid, and the Geothermal power station at Hellisheidi.
